Roger Waters, el poder creativo y la fuerza compositora detrás de Pink Floyd, anuncia su primer álbum de rock en 25 años, Is this the life we really want?. El material estará disponible para preorden a partir de mañana, 21 de abril y será lanzado a nivel mundial el viernes 2 de junio.
Además, Waters lanzará su gira norteamericana Us + Them en Kansas City, Missouri el viernes 26 de mayo, que continuará hasta el 28 de octubre del 2017.
El último álbum de estudio de Roger Waters, Amused to death, de 1992, fue un estudio previo de la cultura popular, explorando el poder de la televisión en la era de la Primera Guerra del Golfo. El esperado seguimiento de 2017, Is this the life we really want? es un comentario inquebrantable sobre el mundo moderno y los tiempos de incertidumbre y un sucesor natural de los clásicos álbumes de Pink Floyd como Animals y The wall.
Producido y mezclado por Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck, U2, “From the Basement”), Is this the life we really want? incluye 12 nuevas composiciones musicales y presentaciones de estudio de Roger Waters.
El lanzamiento del álbum físico incluye un LP doble de vinilo de 180 gramos en una cubierta especial y 4 paquetes de CD. Todos los formatos de álbumes, físicos y digitales, estarán disponibles para preorden a partir del 21 de abril.

La letra del tema “Wait for her” fue escrita por Roger Waters e inspirada en una traducción inglesa de un autor desconocido de ” Lesson from the Kama Sutra (Wait for Her)”, de Mahmoud Darwish.
